Lodge Umusa

  • Our facilities are powered by solar energy. We kindly ask you to avoid bringing high-energy-consuming appliances for example hairdryers, coffee makers, etc. Enjoy the simplicity and tranquility of your vacation.

  • The permit office is conveniently situated just 800m away from the lodge.

​

  • If you’re looking for a respite from cooking lunch or dinner, consider joining us at Die Stoep for the finest burgers in Kosi Bay.

​

  • All chalets have a fridge with a 72 ltr bottom freezer compartment.

​

  • The roads consist of hard compact gravel and certain areas soft sand. 4x4 is not required to reach us.

Explore Kosi Bay

  • For those passionate about 4x4 driving, there are routes to explore on the way to the beaches.

​

  • To fully experience the beauty of Kosi Bay, we recommend participating in the numerous activities available. Feel free to reach out to us, and we’ll handle all the necessary arrangements for you.

​

  • If a rainy day is keeping you from the beach, you might want to consider a visit to Tembe Elephant Park (accessible by 4x4 only).

Health and Safety

  • Don’t forget to safeguard your skin and bring along your sunblock. The water from our borehole at the lodge is safe for consumption.

​

  • There’s no need for concern about malaria, as Kosi Bay is in an area of South Africa with minimal to no risk of infection. Do bring repellant as we sometimes have lots of mosquitos.

​

  • While our local community can occasionally become a bit boisterous when under the influence, they pose no threat to others.

  • It is situated 8km from the lodge.

  • There are several convenience stores which is well-equipped with general groceries and in-store butcheries.

​

  • During peak holiday season it can get quite hectic, so it’s advisable to schedule your shopping for the early morning hours.
